Corrupted MOV File
 

I'm not sure if anyone has had this happen to them, but my GH3 randomly turned off while filming a First Look on Saturday. Worst thing is that the camera was my main source of the material and I had about 12 minutes of continuous footage on it starting with the Bride walking over to the Groom and him turning around!

I had some backup cameras running, but it was pouring down rain and the photographers and I were cramped on a small porch environment. So the backup cameras didn't have the best angles and were interrupted quite frequently.

When I turned the camera back on, I noticed the file was corrupt and unable to play. I imported it anyway and my Mac had nothing to do with it. But I knew I had something because the file was registered at around 2GB.

I imagine that the GH3 just was unable to "wrap" the file properly.

I did a little research and posted on a GH3/4 forum and it was suggested I try a company called 'Treasured.'

Well, I can vouch 100% for this company. Not only did they fix the clip and I have a fully restored 12 minutes of footage, but they did so in about 6 hours! On top of that, they were very prompt along the way with returning emails and answering questions.

The best part is that you don't pay for the fix until you have tested and even previewed the results to know that they work! It cost me $99 to restore up to 15 minutes of footage, but since this was the primary camera shot of both the First Look with the Groom and the First Look with the Father, it was totally worth it!

Highlight recommend this company in the unfortunate event that this should happen to you.

We too have used Treasured to rescue a corrupted card in our case from a 5D2 which contained all the footage from the bridal prep at a big Jewish wedding that we filmed. The process was just as Ian described & while $99 may seem at first sight expensive it was worth every cent to recover irreplaceable images. We too highly recommend you look at this company if you ever find yourself with a corrupt card/clip.
