Hi Jason,

I feel that 5-10 weddings for free is too many. Perhaps you set a price point goal. From there you can judge how close your quality is to your goal and price accordingly. Evaluate where you are after each of your first three weddings, but with your background, it will not take 5-10 weddings to put out a quality product.

For a tripod I would look into the Bogen 3046 legs with the 503 head. Some like a lighter weight set of legs, but I prefer a solid base.

I've been a Mac guy since '85, using Final Cut Pro since v2.0 in 2001, (now using Final Cut Studio latest version) and Sony camcorders (VX2100s now) all the way. No issues.
