The HC1 is the VX2100 to the PD170. The HC1 is a domesticated A1 and it may be getting hard to find now as the smaller, lighter, dumber HC3 takes over.

Cool, Thanks alot. I have decided to save and go ahead and get the V1 after 6 months or so of being out so i can get some feedback. All in all it seems like an awesome camera. for now though, i'll be stuck using eiter a GL2 or 2100. both of which are friends of mine, until i can get 12 or 13 weddings under my belt to purchase all i'm going to need at the same time.
