Introducing Myself and a Few Clips
Hey guys! I'm not exactly new to this forum but I can't remember the last time I posted here. So for those of you who don't know me from other forums, Hello!
Just a little about myself... I own Event DVP over in Philadelphia, PA. I do weddings, corporate, and other social events. Been in the business for three years now and loving it. I recently had the chance to speak at this year's 4EG Video 07 convention in Jacksonville along side my buddies Glen Elliott and Joshua Smith. It was a blast and I hope I can do it again. Anyways, Here's my website, www.videothatlives.com. Please feel free to check out the clips I have in my theater. Always looking for responses on my work. Thanks guys! |
Darell,
Welcome, I made a quick glance.....nice website(clean and simple) which I like.....and nice samples! Cheers, Joe |

Great stuff...
Hello,
I'm new to the DV business, so when I see samples like that I get a little tingle down my spine and some goose bumps to boot. I can only aspire to offer that calibre of video product, and maybe one day I will. As for now, I bow to your greatness. |

Your work is great... Simple, Clean, and your angles and compositions are thoughtful. What editing software, and hardware are you using? |
nice to meet you..
enjoy your stay, beers in the fridge, toilets round the back.... :) |
Very simple site.... great videos, your theater section will do all the work for you.
good job |
Very nice layout and nice video. I was thinking about using that same music for my demo as I'm a big BSG fan and I love the music for it. Great job.

By "hardware" I'll assume you mean my gear. I shoot with a PD170 (soon to be a A1). Glidecam/Smooth Shooter work is a staple in my productions so there is a lot of that in there. Other than that... nothing special. |

I'll echo what others have send. Your site is clean and simple and very eas to navigate. I did have some problems getting the samples to play, or at least getting the proper on to play. I'm using Safari on a mac pro and it seemed like it was very unpredictable as to which clip would load when I clicked the buttons. I did however get them to play.
I really liked the idea of your demo as well. I've never done a demo as I've never een sure as to how much that would entice people or sell the product, but I thikn you did an excellent job of gettin couples interested in video in general as well as what you do. I checked out some of your other clips at well. Probably my biggest comment would be that your voice overs seemed very forced, often put over top of music that had lyrics. It made it much tougher to make out what was happening and created more tension and less flow in the overall piece, or at least that was what I found. There isn't as much choice when you go with the more main stream music, so I can see why it is like that, but that is the first thing that I really noticed. Your demo really pulls the viewer in, but I found that less in your other clips, which is obviously what your selling to clients. Patrick www.still-motion.ca |
Hi There,
Nice site. Although my question pertains more to the smooth shooter. How do yiou manage to remove the pogoing movement from the arm. What cam is mounted on it and accessories. Also what settings are you using ie. springs, weights, etc. I also bought a smooth shooter but cannot remove the up and down bouncy motion it has. Any help would be great Thanks |

Hi Darrell
i am using a vx2100 with np-750 battery and that's it. I have a Bogen quick release mounted on the unit. I have put 3 weight plates on top and have it balanced for the camera. The arm is right in the middle as suggested in the manual. |
