Best Method to do a Time Lapse?
 

I have about 50 min of HDV footage, that I want to playback in about 10-15 seconds :)

right now I'm rendering a full HDV file... 1080-30p with the time stretch at 4.0 playback and velocity envelope at 300% (logically 1200%) but it's still not even close to being enough...

Any thoughts? Still trying to figure out the best method...

You can just render the 1200% sped up version, and speed up the rendered clip, rinse and repeat.

Hmmm... there is another way. I did it with a full moon crossing the sky. I read about it here somewhere... I remember saving the shot as a series of jpegs and saving every x frame or so... I can't really remember it. There is a good way though. Have you searched 'time lapse' here?

I found it. Here's the method I used. detailed in post #10

It worked great. Stephen, the original poster sent it to AE for CCing after, I just rendered it out of Vegas. You will have to change your default setting for length of still image shot (the default is something like 4 seconds), obviously you need to make it much shorter.

Good luck. If you try it, let us know how it worked. I've only used it once and it worked great but it's somewhat more involved than just using velocity.

That method has held up pretty well for me...
