Strange ?
 

I edit HDV in Vegas 6, and render to DVD-A no problem. I recently purchased Ulead Movie Factory because I want full HD quality. Ulead can open any of my SD DVD renders from Vegas - no problem. However, when trying to open a Vegas rendered 1440x1080 HD MPEG-2 file, I get the message "The file is not accessible."

If I edit and render the same HDV material with Premiere Pro 1.5.1, Ulead Movie Factory has no problem opening the file. I can take my Vegas 6 rendered HD Mpeg-2 into Premier, re-render, and Movie Factory accepts the file - just fine. Obviously re-rendering in Premiere is not very efficient. Becuae it works with Premier and direct capture from HDV camcorder, I don't think the problem is with Movie Factory.

Has anyone else had this problem, or have any idea what could be causing it? Is Vegas somehow encoding/denying access to these files? If not, what on earth could cause this? Thanks DSE, or whoever may have some idea why this is happening. - PK
