Lets say I'm working on a project that is primarily a single camera shoot. On a few areas, we have several cameras. Do I select the multi camera events and only enable multi-cam for these events? Or does the entire project need to be a multicam?

I`m very intrigued with your phrase:
"Vegas has had an automated means of Multi-cam available since version 4.0"

Please explain me how does it work, because the university I work has Vegas 4.0 and I couldn`t figure out how to obtain it for a two camera project we are developing.

The multicam Edward was referring to is Excalibur, a third party tool for multicam. Vegas users have had access to a wide variety of multicam tools since Vegas 4.
