"Media Manager is not Installed"

In my Sony Vegas Pro 8, if I click " View Media Manager" I get a empty Media Manager screen with the following error message: : "Media Manager is not Installed".

Yes, I have view Media Manager checked in preferrences.

I have re-installed Pro 8 twice.

I have found the Media Manager folder in the Pro 8 Folder, so I know it's there. Plus, The Media Manager works great in Vegas 7d.

Any suggestions?

Dave

Due to customer complaints, Media Manager is now a separate (63 MB.) download.
It's available on the Vegas Pro 8 download page.

Complaints because it is a waste of time for most people? Or am I in the minority? The MM never seemed useful, always takes a long time to load if I accidentally click on it, and has yet to prove to be of any use for my major project type (weddings) since I don't have a stock footage library.

Not worth it....

I gave up trying to re-load Media Manager 2.3. It is now a 60 mg download file that requires even further Microsoft Software updates. Updates that where slow to download, and eventually impossible to install.

So now I have a Media Manager that works in 7d, but not in 8.

Does anyone out there have any other alternative?

Something smaller, easier to use, and easier to install?

All I really need is something to allow me to show thumbnail views of M2t files in Explorer. I have tried all kinds of graphic viewers. Nothing so far will give me those thumbnails of M2t files.
