A Question on a Video Frame

I am creating some video highlight films of high school football and I need to take the first frame of a clip and extend its length to 1 second. Essentially, this is putting a still image in the time line at the beginning of the clip. I have done a similar task in Ulead Video Studio, where it allowed me to make an image file of a frame.

Is there a similar technique in Vegas?

Take a picture of the frame you want. Right above the preview window is a little floppy disk icon...it says "copy image to clipboard"
This takes a jpeg image and puts it in your media bin. Drag that into the timeline and make it 1 sec long!
Hope this helps

Thanks!!!

Jason,

That is great. This is exactly what I needed to do.

Glad to help
I do a bit of football clips for my high school as well!
Good luck, and if you need any more help I'd be glad to assist.

Chris,

You might want to make sure your preview window is set to best to get the best resolution for your image.

Make that Best/Full.

I know there's a script out there somewhere (VASST site?) called something like "snapshot to file" that automates this for you.

Make sure all of your after effects are added before you take the picture as well or it won't look the same at the video.
