Move events tiny amount?
 

Is there any way to move an event less than one frame?

I'm aware it is probably so small an amount that it doesn't matter, but it would just be nice to see audio wave forms line up exactly.

Be aware that it should ONLY be used for audio and video should only be moved whole frames:

Turn off "Quantize to Frames" and you can move sub-frame amounts. Please immediately turn it back on!!!

Thanks so much. It is basically to get non-video connected audio (from irivers and H2) exactly aligned with audio from a camera mic. I note the warning.

Actually...what happens if you do move video out of line with frames?

You know I did move some video frames out from there positions before and I can't recall anything truly bad happening. I think they just weren't quantized to the actual frame marks.
I don't normally do it in practice, but, you know, something may happen that you don't see. Maybe interlacing fields get messed with or codecs glitch out.

Depends on the content, and how far out it was, and the sort of transitions you might have going over that area and....there are variables. You may have just gotten lucky.
Leaving Quantize to Frames enabled is generally a good idea, given that it's easy to shift just a few samples in one direction or another, and video doesn't like that very much.

The one place where you might not want to quantize video to frames, but instead want to snap to events would be when you have media with multiple frame rates in a single project. Otherwise, you might choose to change the project to 50Hz when dealing with one set of video, and 60Hz when dealing with another.

I'm currently dealing with a project that has 24 Hz on one timeline, 50i on another and 60 on the rest. I'll be rendering to 50 and 60 Hz versions. The last thing I want to do is to snap the 50 Hz material to 60 Hz frames.
