Audio seems to move on rendering
 

I have an edit with 3 sync'ed audio tracks and everything seems fine in the timeline. When I go to render though, one track seems to jump by half a second.

I got it worked out by rendering that track and replacing the effected track, but I just wondered what might do that.

There was no velocity envelope or crazy effects on that track and all the audio was 48k 16bit.
They all played correct in the vegas timeline and the peaks all matched up. You know, the way you normally sync tracks.

What was the source of the recordings? Is it the the same content (eg a concert recorded from three separate mics?).

Does the problem track actually jump at a specific point or does it creep from being perfectly in sync at the beginning to 1/2 a second out at the end?

That's the real strange part. It doesn't go out of sync like the tracks are playing at separate speeds. Yes it's all recordings of the same thing.

The problem happened as if the track were just moved in the timeline by about 15 frames or so. Everything else was ok.

It just kinda had me scratching my head, saying huh.

Like I said, I just rendered out that track and replaced the problem one in a new audio track, since I just needed to get the job finished today. Never happened to me before and probably won't happen again, but still kinda weird.

Yeah, that is odd. Struggling here, but here are a couple of outisde chance ideas:

1. Had you split the event at all, perhaps to edit out some unwanted sound? Maybe the split event got shunted somehow?

2. Might you have you inadvertently copied the event on top of the original?

3. When you say no "crazy" effects, were there any effects at all?

Like I said, all wild stabs at a possible cause!
