Auto Preview

I don't know what happened or what I had done but Auto Preview stopped working; whe I click Auto Preview button in Project Manager I can hear audio but the video preview screen is black; (it has OHCI compliant IEEE 1394 in preview device selected)

Try going up in the top left of your screen and click on View, then Window Layouts, then Load Default Layout. This shoud bring back your preview window if I am understanding you here.

it is not a problem with layout, I can see the preview window and I can play video files from the timeline but NOT from Project Media when I click on Auto Preview button; file plays I can hear the sund but video screen is black

Vegas Pro 8.0c, right?

From the readme file:

When the Show Video Monitor button in the Trimmer window is selected, video that you preview from the Vegas Explorer and Media Manager windows is played back in the Trimmer. Because the Trimmer is placed in the same window dock as the Explorer and Media Manager, you will not see your video preview. To preview Explorer and Media Manager video, you can drag the Trimmer to a new dock group, or you can turn off the Show Video Monitor button to preview in the Video Preview window.

(cha-ching! and another penny goes in the "Preview-wont-show?" Christmas collection box!)

And Mike, wouldn't it be neat that once we now have the clip being Monitored within Trimmer that we could ALSO Trim the Media too? Now, wouldn't that be cute? Along with the Tooth Ferry, the Easter Bunny and the Enchanted Forrest?

Point being that what we expect to happen, doesn't, and that which we DON'T expect to happen does. Personally, I would like to be able to audition a clip I have in MM in Trimmer and immeadiatley be able to .. er . . Trim?

Best regards

Grazie

( ps: do you think this new non-Previewing feedback is closing the distance on the "My-Fxs-wont-show-any-more?"?)

Which is why I created the sticky above:

Edward, by now you must realize that people read stickies about as much as they read readme's - which isn't very often :-(

Grazie, I answer it at least twice a week. so, IMO, this issue topped the FX issue a long time ago.
And watch out what you say about the Easter bunny or those chocolates he drops off for you might not be chocolate!!
