I think you nee to +DVD to get the MPEG-2 output -- and maybe input. -->>> I don't think so.... DVD Architect 1.0 comes on a second CD and I didn't install it at first and I was able to edit and output from Vegas. I was all set to buy the Vegas only version from a download but before I did, I check some prices at some of the other software resellers and was happy to find I could get the + DVD version for less than the Vegas only download price. Needless to say I bought it from a reseller not the web download. It’s nice to get something tangible like a box, books and disks for your $500+ purchase. I noticed a few very interesting things in Vegas recently. When you rendering real time (well kinda real time) the CPU usage only goes to about 50% even if I increase the thread priority for Vegas this doesn’t go up much. This tells me the bottleneck may be getting the data off the disk. A U320 SCSI RAID system may be in my future. I also added a second monitor to my system and with the Matrox Parhelia 128MB. Seeing output on a much bigger screen even though not really real time is much better. Performance didn’t seem to change much ether by adding a bigger render screen. I also added a second gb of ram. This also seemed to slightly improve realtime performance. Mike |
dvd production
Mike,
Any luck with producing a dvd yet? My first attempts with transfering a basketball game recorded in hd onto a dvd with the supplied software was a big disappointment. Almost enough to return the camera until things mature a bit. John |
