Vegas Is Destroying Me

Ok, biggest National TV project in our companies history and Vegas has abandoned us. We have been with Vegas and on TV since V5 and I have never seen this behavior. I have a 26 minute timeline in HD and in 5.1. All clips are m2t including some AVCHD clips that have been re-wrapped using New Blue UPSHIFT. No matter what render settings I choose the program randomly shuts off (as in back to desktop) when the UPSHIFT clips start to appear. If I render the UPSHIFT segment only by selecting the section and rendering only looped region, its renders perfectly. If I render the entire piece is crashes Vegas. Dont know why it will render the section but not the project?

Anyone?

I hate when I post and the very next try I find the solution....

Apparently Vegas did not want to render AVI NTSC DVD Widescreen from a HD project file. I chose an HD m2t render setting and it worked fine. My next problem will be how to render out to DVD with AC3 5.1 audio??? Anyone? I need to get to DVDA in 5.1 or im dead and many others will likely fall...

Why don't you render the section. Rename the project and substitute the render section. Then rename and save again and see if it will then render having removed the troublesome section completely by substituting a rendered section. You may have to render to the project settings rather than your needed output settings. Why don't you use the native AVCHD files anyway.

Use DVD ARCH 5.0 or Nero9 Vision there is an option for 5.1 audio.
If I am doing SD DVD. I render my HD files out to Main concept mpeg2 / DVD ACRH wide screen ntsc 720 x480 do not forget to go to custom setting select audio click include audio.

Your DVD authoring software should be able to encode the stereo track to 5.1 audio.

Try rendering the audio/video separately. Render a M2V (by customizing the template) and a separate AC3 file (using the pro encoder). You should be able to import these files fine to DVDa without rencoding.
