Audio not importing

I am trying to import a file that was rendered in vegas 7 from another computer to my laptop. The video imports fine, but the audio does not show up. It plays fine in wmp and all the other apps I have that will play video. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

What format is the audio? What type of file are you trying to import?

Importing a file

It is an mpg file. The audio is the default setting for the DVD NTSC template

Can you render it out as DV-AVI instead?
The audio will be there and the picture will be higher quality.

AVI File

Tried that. It does not work. The original file was an mpg file.

Then render the mpeg file out as DV-AVI and bring that into your laptop.
You're missing a codec on your laptop that you have on your desktop which is why the audio isn't coming in.

File

That was my first thought, but why would it play in WMP?

Mike Kujbida April 8th, 2009 10:46 AM

WMP can play all kinds of files (like DivX & XviD) that won't play properly in Vegas, even with the codecs installed on your computer.
