How do I...? Break a clip down to FRAMES
 

I have a 4 min clip that I want to have it down Ind. FRAMES. I will be applying a mask on each frame. Some copyrighted material in the shot.

1. Shot this at 24P Total of 576 FRames
2. Using Sony Vegas PRO
3. Will apply a MASK to the region and do a Gausaian Blur.
4. Is there a way to "Click" to the next Frame in Vegas?

Is there a faster way to do this....in Vegas....AE>> Mocha etc.

Hi Thomas. The item you want to mask out, is it moving around? If it is static, you only need to apply a fixed mask across the whole video clip. If it is moving around, you can set keyframes for the mask and adjust the size/position whenever the item moves.

Spent a couple of years in Singapore. One of my absolute favorite places on the Planet.... I loved it!! The mask is moving....really tough to track.

I could go for some Chicken Rice and a walk to Boat Qauy.... :)

Hi Thomas. The chicken rice is still good, pepper crab even better!

Are you planning on somehow automatically applying the mask frame by frame using an external application? Vegas 9 has an export to image sequence that will help if that is your intention.

On the other hand, if your mask is in the Pan/Crop tool, you need to move the mask manually to track the movements of the item you are masking. Right-arrow key will step to the next frame (provided you are zoomed in enough) however it only works if the timebar portion of the Pan/Crop control box has focus. This means that you need to click on the current keyframe before pressing the arrow key to step to the next frame. Otherwise the arrow key will move the mask itself rather than the cursor position. It is very tedious if you really need to adjust the mask for every frame.

Pepper Crab! Almost worth the price of a ticket just for the pepper crab. Although it's so sloppy to eat you might need a wetsuit! Definitely not recommended when wearing a suit and tie.

Yes it can get a bit messy! Some places do supply a paper bib, but where's the challenge in that?
