Well... you don't have to be patient any longer. Just go to http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/default.asp and you'll see Vegas5+DVDA2 prominently listed.

Also, take a look at the latest issue of my newsletter. Vol 2 #4 gives my first looks at the new products. For those who haven't subscribed, I'll get the web page updated later today.

Daft Punk rocks- love their club/trance/electronic sound!

Ordering Vegas 5 uprade this week- wooo hooo....trying to find time to read the "What's New PDF" behind my boss's back here at work!

Will Fastie April 19th, 2004 08:22 AM

Am I reading this right? No DVD-9/dual-layer in DVDA v2? No tape support?

Glen Elliott April 19th, 2004 08:46 AM

Think DVDA 2.0b, or c, or d, ect.....

Will Fastie April 19th, 2004 08:50 AM

I'm thinking Ulead DVD Workshop...which I would only postpone on confirmation that DVD-9 would be in a DVDA update, included in my purchase price for V+D.

DVD Workshop and Encore DVD both do DVD-9.

Aaron Koolen April 19th, 2004 11:10 AM

Wow! I just read your newsletter Edward, and noticed that there is now a "Premier Style" drag and click on the timeline! Seriously this is almost worth the upgrade alone! Small addition, but one I've wanted for a long long time.

Aaron

Edward Troxel April 19th, 2004 11:13 AM

Yep. Just one of many "small" updates that makes the workflow faster and easier.

Aaron Koolen April 19th, 2004 11:27 AM

Edward, do you know if I can install the trial of Vegas 5 side by side with my curent Vegas 4, and still use Vegas 4 OK? Would like to know just in case I don't upgrade straight away and need to continue using Vegas 4.

Cheers
Aaron

Glen Elliott April 19th, 2004 11:34 AM

I think I can answer this one- as I asked the same basic question on another thread. Yes- it installs as a separate program. You can have an operational Vegas 4 and 5 on the same computer without problems.

Aaron Koolen April 19th, 2004 11:40 AM

Thanks Glen.

Aaron

Edward Troxel April 19th, 2004 11:52 AM

Yes. I currently have Vegas 4, DVDA 1, Vegas 5, and DVDA 2 all running on one computer.

Will Fastie April 19th, 2004 12:12 PM

Today is the day all right. Today is the day for a busy-all-the-time 800 number and S-L-O-O-O-W downloads. Took me forever to download the whole package.

Looks like some money is being made today!

Graham Bernard April 19th, 2004 01:31 PM

Contour Shuttle Pro?

Can't get it to work in Vegas 5 .. works in Vegas 4 . . . Edward, any ideas?

TIA

Grazie

Edward Troxel April 19th, 2004 01:41 PM

Can honestly say I haven't tested that yet. Do you have Vegas 5 set up in the contour control panel??? You'll probably need to export your Vegas 4 settings and then import them into the Vegas 5 program in the Contour control panel. There's also some Contour Shuttle Pro settings in the C:\program files\sony\vegas 5.0 folder.

Graham Bernard April 19th, 2004 01:45 PM

THAT'S starting to ring a bell for me . . I'll have a fiddle about . ..

G

Graham Bernard April 19th, 2004 01:49 PM

Thanks Edward . . That did it . .I saw "Vegas50.exe has Focus" and thought okey dokey! BUT that was half the story . . of course . . . I had to go rummage around in the folder to give CSP the profiles . . HAHAH!

I'll get onto the TRIAD of Wizards soon - yeah? Do you need to email me with anything?

TIA

Grazie
