The series examines objective and subjective measures of performance (black level, brightness, contrast, color fidelity) of the three technologies and explains why each one is important.

They examine top-end gear, but the information can be applied to cheaper models.

(Basically: CRT's are still the best choice for the blackest blacks and the highest color fidelity. Certain high-contrast images--white text on a black background or vice versa--may not work as well on CRT's as other technologies. And: viewing environment makes a huge difference.)
