Earthquake Effect in Vegas..
How do you go about doing hte Earthquake effect in Vegas? Is there a plug in? Thanks.
|
didnt i answer this in the premiere forum?
|
If you're referring to the shaking motion then do a search for a littel plugin called "vegas quake" and that should set you right up.
I can't remeber the name of the guy that wrote it but a search on the name (search in the Sony Vegas site)should get it. Don |
k, dumb question as I am not very used to Vegas... how do you use the scripts after you've got it?
|
Here is the link:
http://www.rmtools.se/vegasquake.html Goto TOOLS and then SCRIPTING and then RUN SCRIPT (It'll prompt you to select Script from there; so remember where you put it) After you have it in place; use the same method to RUN it in the future. |
I hate downloading EXE files. Is this the normal way that scripts are shared?
|
Scripts are shared in various ways. This one happens to be an EXE file that will automatically copy the necessary files for you.
Excalibur, Tsunami, and Neon are also distributed as EXE files so the proper files can be placed in the proper folders automatically. For example, they automatically locate where you installed Vegas and install into the Script Menu folder so they will be readily available without manually searching. Many of the scripts you download are simply a single .js or .vb file which you must manually place in the correct location (or manually browse to them each time) Finally, some are distributed as .ZIP which must be unpacked together in the proper/desired location. If multiple files are required, you'll usually find them as either EXE or ZIP. If only the single file is required, you'll usually find them as .JS or .VB |
Any one get an error when trying to run this script?
|
yes, all the time BUT if you ignore the error message the program works fine.
With VV4 there was no error message, with VV5 even with the NEW Vegas Quake there is but it works. It GOOFY! Don |
I ignore the error msg... but it never does anything
Just gives me another (same) error message... Endless loop |
----bump---
|
I've never run this particular script. What error does it give?
|
I used to run it in Vegas 4 and it ran perfectly. In Vegas 5 it gives me an error message but when I close out the error message the program does work. Very strange indeed. I don't use it that often and the Stuttering video from Excalibur (plugin) works along the same lines but has more control.
Don |
Here is the error msg I get:
An unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your applicatioins Click continue |
and it returns me to vegas -- and just gives me the same error msg over and over
|
Ok, I installed it and tried running it in Vegas 5. It is looking for File name: "SonicFoundry.ScriptHost" which is not a part of Vegas 5 but WAS a part of Vegas 4. Since it cannot find that file, it does not run.
If you have Vegas 4 still installed, I can see how it *might* still work since your system would still have that file. Bottom line, the script was NOT designed to work in Vegas 5. There is also a version that WAS designed for Vegas 5 here: http://www.rmtools.se/vegasquake.html. That version ran perfectly fine in Vegas 5 with the exception that an error message occurred AFTER clicking OK indicating that a point could not be added because one already existed. Clicking on Continue and then Cancel shows that it DID work but still DOES have an error. Bottom line: Make sure you downloaded and installed the correct version. |
That is the one I'm using... the vegas5 one on the page you sent...
Reinstalled... and still get the Same error Please help |
I got it working guys!!!
I dont know what I did... but its working now? I re-installed once... no luck... Re-installed again... and it worked! Dont you hate computers...? LOL Thats a bad-ass script! Anyone got urls with more cool scripts? thanks everyone... |
Brent, for more scripts, look at the bottom of Edward Troxel's post above and click the link there. Many script links. But you'll have to pay a small fee to use the best scripts (Excalibur, Neon, Tsunami, UltimateS, PeachRock, etc.)
Additonal scripts at VASST, though their website has been redesigned and they are harder to get to. But remember, just because you can use an effect, doesn't mean you should use an effect. ;) |
Great... now the script isn't working again...
Damn... whats the deal... Any idea? Any one |
