DVDA cannot prepare DVD, reason unknown?

Hi all,

DVDA is giving grief today. It is very simple, no matter what I do to the project once I start preparing it here's the error message and it always shows at 3%:

---
An error occurred while writing the file
The reason for the error could not be determined
---

All the project's parameters are fine and I do not have any warnings prior to launching the preparation process.

In fact this is a updated project that was done last spring. We shot a new product for my client and now I am simply adding it to the DVD.

Since the reason cannot be determined I don't know where to look, the only thing that I believe could create an issue is the fact that the source files are now spreaded on two separate drives...

Thanks for your input.

Phil

please provide some details of what are you trying to render

Phil Gosselin January 24th, 2010 07:08 PM

Well there isn't much to tell. This is just a regular/plain DVD made out with source files that were rendered through Vegas using the usual templates.

It is a DVD9 though and it always crash at this point in the process, which is about 3% in:

---
Rendering video for Menu (page 3) (1: video)
---

I have no idea what DVDA is referring to, there is no Page 3, if I look at my tree pane all I see are "Page 1"

Thanks

Can you burn the folders prepared by DVD Architect with another burning app?

Phil Gosselin January 25th, 2010 02:35 PM

Hi Ed,

Two things:

First I couldn't have burned the prepared folder with another app because DVDA simply couldn't prepare the folder, it always crashed at the same point during the preparation process.

Second, problem solved.

I forgot that since my last computer crash I had reinstalled version 4.5, now that I have replaced it with 5.0b everything went as smooth as silk.

Thank you for your time.

Phil
