Shuttle pro Question

Good afternoon,

i got my shuttle pro and have all the buttons working perfect. VERY NICE!

I can not seem to get the jog and shuttle dials to work.

Must be missing something simple.

any ideas?

Make sure to have a track selected, otherwise the jog and shuttle wheels do not work.

I double checked that and it does not work even if timeline is selected.

the question is: When I identified the short cuts for the keys, how do you identify the shuttle so it is active.

You just import the file Sony - Vegas Pro 9 - ShuttlePRO v2.pref from your X:\program files\Sony\Vegas Pro 9.0 directory in the Contour Shuttle Device Configuration, and it takes care of everything else.

If you happen to be in Windows 7, they just put out a beta of their software - I used to use the older templates they had for earlier Vegas versions, but nothing worked quite as expected in Win7, the new software fixed it right up.

Good Morning,

I am using vista 64 bit, vegas 9 64 and 32 bit versions.

I imported the sony v.9 to application setting, set the buttons with computer response as keystroke.

When I turn the shuttle dial it highloights, user action shuttle in left 5,

computer response, not sure what to put in before apply or ok.

Just got mine today. Nice piece of kit! Just have to lean how to edit now!

Really nice with shuttle and jog wheels.

I did as suggested, no luck. So I reset the preferences back to defaults and re-imported (from Vegas 10 folder, in my case) a second time, and it's working now. Hopefully everyone who reads this will realize the reset could be destructive to existing settings and should back them up before attempting.

I made my own commands because the default ones don't match my needs. For frame to frame jogging I use Keystroke: Right/Left arrows.
For fast (outside dial) jogging I use the default Shuttle in Left/Right.

Paul, James

I hate to sound stupid, but the control panel: User action should be _______
Computer response _________

Keystroke ____________________

Frequency_____________________

I went to composer and it will not let me type in right/left arrow, just gives individual choices in the list!!!

The shuttle works fabulous on my edius program, I would rerally like it to work properly in Vegas as I use it the most!!

Help????

I tried James way but i can't find the file he mentions

Oh Yea, mys list only shows up to vegas 7 in the application settings

TAB: Key Composer
User action: Jog Right
Computer response: Type Keystroke
Keystroke: Right Arrow
Smart release: checked
Frequency: Once Only

Dale Guthormsen November 26th, 2010 10:48 AM

Paul,

that worked great for the inner dial,

How about the outside ring for playing forward and backwards?

thank you so much

Paul Fierlinger November 26th, 2010 12:05 PM

That's default:
ShuttlePRO2 tab:
Device events control/user action:
Shuttle in Left/Right (1 to 7)
Computer response:
Do Nothing
