Before I jump (9.0) question
Well I just downloaded the Vegas 9.0c upgrade from 8.0c, wondering what I could or should do to my Dell Studio XPS Core i7 Vista 64-bit SP2 system before installing? Ive got 6GB ram, 750GB internal and 1TB external eSATA drive connected.
I've been running the 32-bit version of 8.0c on this machine because the 64-bit version wasn't working (my veg files would hang while loading media). Can anyone here please tell me if I'll see better results with 9.0 on Vista, and if an upgrade to Windows 7 will improve performance? I'm hoping I can finally get all of the performance out of this processor. Thanks! Sam |
I'm running 64bit Vegas Pro 9.0c on Win 7 (64bit) and it is rock stable. My PC is a AMD Phenom quad core with 8gb mem.
I did have some problems under Vista and Windows 7 seems to have resolved them. |
Good to know, Gene thanks! Since I haven't taken a close look at Windows 7 yet, any additional tips on enabling/disabling features for faster performance/stability would be great. Home Premium is probably the version I'd use. Looking forward to it!

I am running 9.0c 64 bit with a Dell XPS 9000i7 core and Windows 7 64bit. There are some issues with Vegas freezing with files from the Canon 7-D(I convert to Cineform Neoscene and edit with it) , but it works well with M2T files from the Canon XL-H1. The projects load well and it is very stable.

There aren't any particular tweaks that I'm using or are aware of other than the usual common wisdom. Don't load up background applications, buy as much ram as you can afford, etc. I'm really pleased with the way Vegas is handling. |
