Critique my video
I got a good feedback last time I asked my fellow Vegas users to critique a video for me so I'm asking again.
YouTube - Jackie "3 small words" Please let me know what you think about overall quality and flow of this video. Fully open to any critisism or praise :) Thanks in advance! |
Hi Thomas,
I really enjoyed the video specially the colors. Did you use any preset? which frame rate did you use? Thanks Matthew |
Used HMC 150's using "Spark" setting with some modifications, and WB preset at 3200k...
720/60P put onto a 23.97 timeline... No color correction in post. Thanks! |

Great video,
which I wouldn't say about performance :) |
awesum Thomas, I like doing the live music too. The quality of your footage is great for low light.
Here's one I did on my own ( i wish i could hire people but.... too poor, lol ) a couple of months ago. YouTube - DIE FOR YOU - Tell Me Girl Every time I edit one, as soon as its done I see all the things I would do differently if I started again. The learning experience never ends. PS. as Thomas said, other opinions are always welcome :) |
Thanks Bubba...
|
Gerald, quality of your video very good if you did all those camera angles by yourself and that was a live show I'm stunned and amazed :)
- vocals a bit washed out though... |
thanx Thomas,
yeah, the sound guy let me down on that one, I normally have a Rode NT4 as a room mic and a left and right from the mixing desk into a Zoom H4N, at that show I ended up with the desk audio being clipped before it even got to me, so all I had was the one room mic to work with. Im still trying to work out the bugs but I think I can make it work with one guy and 4 cams for a live band, personally Id rather do more jobs at a lower price at the moment, at least until my cam and editing skills get a bit better. cheers |
Try making an extra audio track copy and use the EQ to cut everything to 1K, then put on another EQ and boost up with band 3 the 2000 to 2500k range..
Might bring the vocals up a tad... |
thanks for the tip Thomas, I did one today,
YouTube - SUNDANCE KIDS - Solutions LIVE with the vocals eq'd on a separate track and it does give you more control. cheers mate :) |
Much better on the vocals :)
Putting some effects on the Master bus, might help you out as well... I PM'd you a link to a .veg that will give you some ideas for master bus effects that I use on live shows. |
