No audio effects in 64-bit version?

I know that various video effects don't work in the 64-bit versions of Vegas but can it be right that there are no audio track FX available to me? Zero, zilch, none.

I see loads in the 32-bit versions (8.0c and 9.0e, running on Vista 64 bit) but 8.1 and 9.0e (64 bit) show no audio effects available at all, Sony or otherwise. No Wave Hammer, no EQ, no Noise Gate etc etc.

Have I missed something or done something stupid? (ps, yes I have clicked on 'all' under the plug-in chooser)

Regards
David

Then there would appear to be some peculiarity with my system because it doesn't show any.

Any suggestions from anyone as to how I make the 64-bit versions understand that they ought to be showing me some FX?

Help!

IMO it would appear that your install was not a good one. I would uninstall and reinstall Vegas. Good luck.

Here's a screenshot to show you what you should see.

Are you selecting an audio track first, then Tools - audio - etc?

Thanks Jeff. Yes, I know what I *should* see - after all, they all show up fine in the 32-bit versions of the program. They just don't appear in the 64-bit ones!

I even tried the advice on Sony's knowledgebase, of deleting the DIrectX registry key and 'forcing' Vegas to re-register what was available but it didn't work.

And it was a fresh install of version 9, albeit onto a system that already had version 8.0c and 8.1 on it. I dread having to uninstall and reinstall all that lot!

If it takes 5 minutes to uninstall and reinstall Vegas I'd be surprised. Not a big deal. Vegas installs so quickly it should be a non-issue unless you have a very slow computer.
