Text bug in 9 and 10
While using 10.0a to cut my latest project I noticed a bug while using Sony Text. It appears that the 64bit version does not do a very good job rendering text compared to the 32bit version. I found this out a while ago when using 9.0e. It appears that the problem is related to having a title of more than one line. It is in the standard text and the PPT.
I have put a zip file with example vegs here: www.cult-pop.com/TitleTest.zip (1 MB). Can anyone replicate it? BTW using Win 7, Intel quad core, Bad Axe 2 Mombo Regards, Jerry |
Can you post a small rendered example that shows the problem, Jerry? Or can you describe it? Thanks.

Ian,
There are examples in the zip file, but here is a blowup of the comparison. The top "Brunswick" is rendered in 9 32 bit, the bottom is in the 64bit version. Look at the s and the k. The problem shows up as flickering on the text while the avi is playing. Regards, Jerry |
this may be relevant, not sure if its 64 or 32 related, prob both.
there is a bug in the stroke option, when using stroke to "fatten" up some texts, the stroke blurs the larger it gets. even with blur/fade on zero. It basically means you have to go to photoshop or afx to modify your texts if you're looking to add weight to them. It possibly wouldnt be hard for sony to fix, maybe if they were aware of it they would. |
BTW what kind of text does Vegas support? I'm pretty confused as some fonts do some seem to look as good compared to PHotoshop.

as far as i'm aware Vegas will use any text thats installed in Windows.

There are some fonts it can't use. Generally speaking, TrueType fonts will work fine. However, Windows can accept fonts in other formats and they don't seem to work.
