Hey Jeff.... getting back to the rendering...
selected the PAL DV widescreen template selected .avi file format clicked on the Video Format drop-down menu.... and couldn't find any codec with a = sign next to it. this is what I see: http://i53.tinypic.com/2hhzps1.jpg |

Which version of Vegas are you using?

Re: Seeking advice selecting optimal render settings - for playback on my pc
Vegas 9e
I think I see what you mean now.... I see the = near the PAL DV template... so should I use that? By the way I made a couple of test renders using PAL DV and DivX. Both look pretty much the same, possibly the PAL DV version looks a bit better. The PAL DV file is much larger, but size doesn't matter much to me. So would this be my best bet? I was sure that DV compression is pretty harsh and since the source material is not DV, but rather mpeg2 from a DVD - that it wouldn't make any sense re-compressing it to DV.... or is that not what is happening? |
Re: Seeking advice selecting optimal render settings - for playback on my pc
The = sign means it is the best fit of the avi templates. I would use the one that looks best. I'm not sure what you mean exactly on the rest. avi files are very usable, and I would go with that if size is unimportant.
