HD Platinum vs Pro 11

I know this has beeen discussed before but both have had recent releases so i'm not sure whats changed. Are the common features that they both share the same in terms of quality? Are the mpeg, avi and mov codecs in plantinum as good as it is in pro? Same questions for color correction and green screen.

why not simply dl the trial version?

you know what you're looking for and no matter what we say, it's OUR subjective opinion we give, so you really don't know if our, 'green screen is fantastic in vegas x' is actually better than your experience / expectation.

that's what trials are for...

Hi Leslie, thanks for the input.I was'nt looking for a subjective opinion, I was leaning more towards actual technical specs. I have downloaded both trials, but because I am still new to the programs, I may not be maximizing all the settings.

Re: HD Platinum vs Pro 11

well, if you want a subjective view....

if you're NOT making a living out of video production and find mm2 pathetic, then studio is great.

if you ARE making a living out of video then you NEED pro.

i don't know anyone running BOTH, but i would suspect that the differences are mainly functional (eg, how many tracks open, etc.,). i suspect the codecs and code are pretty much the same.

Vegas Pro can handle .mxf files, HD Platinum can't.
Also, Pro has compositing tools.

Re: HD Platinum vs Pro 11

Pro has a LOT of features not found in Movie Studio. If you can afford either (since Pro is significantly more expensive), I would go for Pro for all the additional features. Scripting, alone, is enough reason for me to go for Pro.
