Then it doesn't sound like you're describing an "interlacing" problem. Is there any way you can post any examples of the problems you're seeing?

It looks good on computer but not when you play it on TV.
I tried to upload it but still too big (only few seconds)

Michael, open an account at Dropbox which allows you to upload and share any kind of data.
You get 2 GB. of storage space which should be more than enough for a few seconds of video.

What source file did you give TMPGenc ? I can always see I big difference in sharpness of edges and detail in coloured areas especially when the DVD is played back from an upscaling player. As Mike says export a small piece of the worst part of the timeline.

The scan order flags indicate bottom field first for the entire video, however, the field dominance actually changes about half way through from bottom field first to top field first. Most computer video players throw away every other field so reversed field dominance doesn't make any difference. A real DVD player doesn't do this and the reversed field dominance results in motion artifacts.

You could deinterlace the entire video to 30p and move on to the next project, or figure out why the field dominance switches back and forth between different clips and fix the video properly.

Just saw this thread; don't know if I can help but my 2c worth:

From my experience digital video (from tape etc) is always Lower Field First. Video from HD sources, including HDD, SD cards is Upper Field First.

Whichever field comes first doesn't seem to matter a damn; the golden rule is DON'T CHANGE THE FIELD ORDER. Rendering it as Lower Field First will do serious things to it from the get-go.

Why not try processing the whole thing, from start to finish, including the DVD, as Upper Field First?

Best of luck

The XHA1 is top field first. I agree that rending the whole video over as top field first may solve it.
