"Duhhh! Push the red record button, dumbo", he said to himself amazed by his own stupidity!

Solved? More like on to the next problem of course.

However I have the sound and picture pretty well locked - might be off 0.02 or 0.03 seconds but so close I don't want to touch it any more. Would have been easier if Yukie (my wife) had remembered why I handed her the clapper board before the take.

Honestly it was quite a circus as this was a "low budget" (meaning $0.00 favor for our friend and we even paid for the eats for the reception afterwards) and I was running around doing sound from the front and video from the back. My SD 702 was telling me that we had the grand total of 5 seconds left on the CF card when we finished the take.

Thanks much.

I rather like the Omni/Fig 8 combination although I sometimes use a different mic depending on situation - gives a lot of flexibility without having to have two of everything - very significant given the prices Schoeps gets for their capsules.

My wife was a concert pianist in Japan and has done a couple of concerts with Toru here in Tucson - he's actually a violinist but I'm really impressed with his conducting.

Wish I had had a chance to work on the lighting a bit though.

Re: Capture problem

I've had camcorder connection problem resolved by changing a setting in my Sony HDV camcorder. There is a menu setting called "VCR/DV". The choices are Auto, HDV, and DV. I've had problems using the Auto setting that were immediately resolved by selecting HDV instead.

Don't know if it applies in your situation but thought I would mention it.

Hi David

Thanks for your suggestion. I finally got things working by falling back to older drivers

Re: Capture problem

Not related to your problem (probably), but keep in mind -- DV is not hi-def. HDV and DV are entirely different things.
