Surely that depends on the terms of the NDA.

If Sony have tried features and removed them either because they didn't work or were considered not to add to the product, then that information could be useful to a competitor. I'm sure they (Sony) would rather that their competitors spend their own money finding that out.

Chris, my philosophy is that Sony can say whatever they want - whenever they want. As for me, I will only make my comments after it's officially released. For example, if I had a review written right now on the new product, I would not post it, no matter what Sony says about VP12, until it has been released without first checking with Sony to see if it was OK to do so.

I have all three of these NLE's. CS6, Vegas 11 and Edius 6.07 ( I have not upgraded to Edius 6.5 as it didn't include much that I use as new features so will wait for the next release to upgrade). I don't use Premiere, use Edius for video and Vegas for audio ( with Sound Forge ) I have had all three NLE's since they started ( yes I am old 70 !!!) I have a Shuttle Pro V2 and have Vegas and Edius set up with windows that look much the same and the shuttle so that editing in either is the same too. Could do the same with Premiere but don't really need to. Edius is fast a stable, its audio is adequate but nothing like Vegas and I like using DVD Architect for authoring too. Like CS6 you need to place assets in a bin to use rather than just drag from explorer but that really isn't a problem as one can nest and name bins so that the assets make sense and easy to find . Right click and load to bin is not difficult !!

I like Vegas for quick single track stuff that clips can be dragged over one another easily to visualize the effects one wants and that is how I use for most of my family videos etc. Also waveform display is easily the best of all the NLE's making editing easy. Also use for all my multi track audio editing ( which is how I started with Vegas Audio before it did video )

For projects, all multicamera shoots, I use Edius since its multicam is easily the most flexible and fastest of all the NLE's being able to mix native files at full resolution and frame rate on a modern PC.

All have their strengths that's why I keep upgrading all of them !!!
