How to delete just the audio track?
Using Vegas Pro 12. When I select any part of the video clip, both audio and video are selected together. I only want to delete the audio, but since they're linked, both audio and video are deleted. How do I "unlink" them?
Thanks, |
Re: How to delete just the audio track?
ctrl+shift+u = ignore event grouping. That will allow you to move, trim, delete just the audio or just the video of a clip that has the audio and video grouped, which is how they are brought into the timeline by default.

Re: How to delete just the audio track?
For single selected clip just "U" (Ungroup).

Re: How to delete just the audio track?
You could also just reduce the track level all the way. Then, you can look at the audio to help you sync and edit clips.

Re: How to delete just the audio track?
There is a button on the Vegas toolbar to turn off grouping temporarily. After deleting the audio you can turn grouping back on if desired.
You do not have to ungroup if you are deleting an entire track. You go to the left of the track, in the area of the level slider, right click and select delete track and you're done. You can also highlight the track by simply selecting it so it's highlighted, and then hit your delete key on your keyboard. The video will not go away but the audio will. |

Lots of helpful tips here. I saved this thread for reference.

Re: How to delete just the audio track?
You can also just delete the entire audio track -- select the track on the left and press delete. Vegas leaves just the video on whatever track it's on. Of course, make sure you have no other audio clips on that track.

Re: How to delete just the audio track?
I usually just click on the audio, press "U", and then press "Del"
