One of my friends figured out how to burn it. However, I have a project that is too big to fit onto one 4.7gb DVD. How do I cut the .mpg (mpeg2...which will be demuxed into .m2v with MPEG Streamclip later) file in half, as well as my .ac3 file in half exactly where I cut the video, so I can burn onto two separate DVDs? Or alternatively, how do I compress the video (6.5gb) down to around 4gb, although I realize there will be a significant quality hit?

If you are using DVD Architect, when you render the final version you have the option of "fitting to disc." This changes the bitrate encoding of the MPEG2 stream to allow for a smaller file size. Try this option.

Nope, I don't use DVD Architect. Like I said, I am using DVD Studio Pro 4 right now.

then you should be able to encode an mpeg2/ac3 file into whatever size you want, based on the original footage that you edited... there are some great bitrate calculators over at videohelp.com, that you can use to tell the vegas mpeg encoder what bitrate to use.
