Render Format for HDDVD
I have a problem that maybe is a silly one, but I can't find a solution, so I try to ask if anyone can advice me.
Using Sony Vegas 7, I captured some footage from my Canon HV10 in HDV format and I edited a short movie with transitions, titles, music and so on, then I rendered it as MPEG-2 in the HDV PAL format (1080x1440, 25 fps); so Vegas output a file with extension “.m2t”. In order to make an HDDVD (to be burned on a regular DVD-R), when I try to import this file in either Ulead Movie Factory 5 or Power Producer (both trial version) I cannot get it recognised as a valid video format; I also tried to rename the file to “.mpg” extension, with no success. Maybe I’m missing anything, but does anyone know if there is a different render format in Vegas to be used for this purpose, or any other tip ? Thank you very much in advance. |
Hello Marco,
have You checked if MPEG 2 is a valid format for HDDVD. I thougt HDDVD must be AVC (H264). Greetings Richard |
HDV to HDDVD
Richard,
thank you for your reply. I have found the solution on the web: HDDVD is compatible with MPEG-2, however this must be in the Program Stream format, whereas HDV files (.m2t) are in the Transport Stream format. Therefore it is necessary to convert them using Womble MPEG2VCR. I tried and it works, although this is an additional step in the workflow that I didn't expect. Greetings Marco Durando |
