Sound Forge gets considerable upgrade
I was so intently looking for new video stuff announced at NAB that I missed this announcement.
Sound Forge has gotten more video-friendly, with significant upgrades in several areas. Especially: Now it's a multi-channel editor, multi-channel wav import/export (I think this is same as .bwf), an AC-3 encoder, and lots of new multi tools. Cool new multichannel spectrum analysis display, including phase meters. Standard bundle now includes Sony Noise Reduction 2.0, a very cool tool. A set of mastering tools from Izotope includes loudness maximizer, mastering reverb & eq, also very cool stuff. If you've been aching to cut up and re-channelize your SD-704T or other multi-BWF/WAV files... or been looking for an NR tool... or mastering plugs... it's a nice bundle of goodness. If you'd not made the upgrade to 8 (7?), it now also includes CD-Architect, a great Redbook CD Audio program. And other improvements too numerous to mention here... $299 list, 149 upgrade. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/...ct.asp?PID=431 |
Yeah, I noticed that. I went with Adobe Audition2 because Soundforge 8 just didn't stack up... but the 9 version is a whole different ballgame. NOW...I may get rid of the AA2 because it doesn't mesh very well with Vegas.

I was planning on buying Sony's NR plugin this week. It lists for $279 and for an extra $20 I can ge the whole Sound forge package. |
