Time saved? MPEG hardware encoder after editing/rendering in Vegas?

Is anyone doing this? Is significant time saved? Or does the additional render cancel out the extra speed of the hardware encoder.

1- Couldn't you frameserve to a hardware encoder? Check out Satish's frame server codec.

2- There was a thread on this some while back... the Main Concept MPEG2 encoder is pretty fast on single-pass mode.
