Using Vegas as a converter (60i to 24P from HVR-V1U)

Hello,
I have been trying to wrap my head around the HDV stream. Basically teh 24P is embedded in teh 60I stream.

To edit, many have been suggesting CineForm.

However, many have suggested to just edit in Vegas. I just have not gotten it to work proberly, or I guess what I think is proper.

Maybe I can use Vegas to just convert my M2T files to Quicktime then I can edit at my target resolution and framerate. Is this possible and how please. I thought I had figured it out yesterday, but my footage in Vegas still seems 60i. I will be playing with Vegas this afternoon trying to get more info and any help is appreciated.

Which mode did you shoot in with the V1?
As far as a converter, I use it regularly. So are Electric Entertainment and other production houses.
Removing the pulldown is quite easy, but need to know how you shot it.

Well I have figured out how to shoot the footage. (24A) and I have been playing with it successfully and all seems to be working fine with the camera side of things. Just getting it out of M2T has been a pain.

I have been working with CineForm in Premiere and it just keeps crashing but I have an open ticket about that mess but moving on...

I am thinking of getting out of Premier and useing Vegas since it came with the camera.

Does Vegas alow me to import M2T (This yes I know) and export to a stable codec while using a standard codec and still removing the pulldown? All in one pass? I would even be happy with uncompressed. (At this point I am trying to avoid the other codec.)
