mixing frame rates, will audio sync too ?

I am using Premiere Pro CS5.5. I understand mixing frame rates is possible . My question is will audio sync up ? I would not think it would. However, I hope I am wrong. I also, have Plural Eyes . Will that possibly work .

I shoot weddings. I shoot with my Sony AX 2000 as my main camera at 29.97 fps ( (1920x1080). I want to have my second shooter, shoot some b roll run & gun with my Nikon D7000 during the ceremony & toasts. The Nikon records at 24 fps at 1920 x1080. I could use it at 29.97 however this is only available at 1280x720. From what I researched Premiere will upscale the 1280 x720 footage. I would like to avoid that.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Re: mixing frame rates, will audio sync too ?

The video rate has nothing to do with the audio recording rate. For most editing systems, the audio is 48khz 16 bit. If your cameras offer some other variation...the old Betacams were 12 bit, iirc...you may want to check that both record the same.

As far as the video is concerned, you can freely mix frame rates and image sizes in a sequence and they will be re-sized or frame rate re-interpreted to conform to the setting of the sequence. I haven't tried it, but you could try shooting both cameras at 1920x1080 and see how you like the re-interpretation of the 24fps material to 29.97, if this is your sequence setting. Or vice-versa. This would avoid re-sizing...what that does to the quality of the odd-frame-rate clip, you'd have to be the judge...I haven't done this bit....

Ok, that makes sense ! I did try ( just wanted to be sure) syncing the 2 cameras as described above for 10 minutes ( using Plural eyes 2) and it worked perfectly.

Thanks so much for your reply.
