HV20 + Extreme

5 Attachment(s)
Finally got the rig setup:

HV20
Letus Extreme
Cinevate 45mm carbon rails
Cinevate Mattebox
Libec LS-55 tripod

I was able to mount everything perfectly level and balanced; no front or rear heaviness at all.

Next up: Test footage...

What have you used to raise the HV20 so high?

David Chia November 1st, 2007 03:32 PM

I think he just change the 5/8 rod to a longer one instead of the standard 5/8 rod that comes with the Cinevate rail set.

Leo Versola November 1st, 2007 08:58 PM

Hi Phil,

David is correct... Dennis Wood of Cinevate gave me a 6 inch post in addition to the standard 3 1/4 inch post for the camera baseplate. The post is actually 5/8 inch tubing you can buy at most hardware stores.

I knew I would need a longer post in order to raise everything high enough to fit into the mattebox at its lowest height so I just asked him to include it with my rails and mattebox.

Cheers,

Leo

PS: How's the Extreme testing coming along?

Hi Leo, where did you get the step down ring to fit the hv20? BH?

Aaron Pinto June 22nd, 2008 10:33 PM

If you have a 72mm ring on the Extreme, you can use a pair of step rings to make the jump to the HV20/HV30 43mm threads.

52mm to 72mm ring
and
43mm to 52mm ring

That's what I use and they work great.
