My take on anamorphic flares

So this is my version of the long streaky flares. mines not as long, but I sorta prefer it that way. I feel like its different enough to give light an interesting look, but not obtrusive enough to annoy the viewer.

I just need to extend it a litte, and find a way to eliminate the parallel double image...maybe some kind of polarizer filter?

If you don't mind me asking what was the method you used to create this? I'm guessing a one direction star filter?
