Does your XL1s comes with a Firewire cable?

First, I would like to thank every one here in this forum. Your help has led me to purchase the XL1s.

I got home today and there she was. I’m currently charging my battery so I haven’t have a chance to play with it yet but so far it is very sophisticate looking camera. Any way, after examining all the contents and I don’t see the Firewire cable any where. Does it come with one?

Thanks
AP

Congratulation! I'm sure you will fall in love with this camera and the incredibles images it can produce.

Unfortunatelly, the firewire cable is not included in the package. You will have to buy one. You can look for one in any computer on camera store.

Take the lens off the camera and look at the area that fits inside the body.

As I recall, there are two registration cards (lens and body) that have the serial numbers listed also.

The XL1s I got from B&H in June '03, had a firewire included in the package.
The SN is located towards the end of the lens that connects to the body.

Some dealers may choose to bundle a FireWire cable with a camera package. Most don't, and Canon does not specify one as part of the kit.

Some folks edit on laptops; some on desktop computers. You'd need a 4-pin to 4-pin FireWire cable for laptop editing, and a 4-pin to 6-pin FireWire cable for desktop editing. Camera manufacturers have no idea which one a buyer will need, and since they're not in the cable business, no way to include both cables and still be cost-effective. So they'll let the customer -- or sometimes the dealer -- provide their own FireWire cable. Hope this helps,
