First Light why so different?
 

Decided to give Neo HD a try and am very impressed with the color controls....

However what I see in First Light looks nothing like I see in Vegas? In Vegas it gets all washed out looking and raises the blacks...

What am I doing wrong?

Oh and I did find your comment about putting the sgrb to cgrp plugin on the display monitor - it doesn't help.

I use a Panatone Huey to calibrate my monitor so not sure if this makes a difference.

Sorry, I didn't read your post carefully enough. I guess you didn't earn that 100th spot as you did read other posts on the subject (thank you.) ;)

Sure you got the correct filter as that link looks like you put cRGB to sRGB rather than sRGB to cRGB (Sony has a look to explain with this c#@p)

It does work.
Filter (Vegas matched FirstLight -- first image)
Unfiltered (Vegas is wrong -- second)


I added the ColorPicker to show the blacks level:
#00000 is 0,0,0.
#101010 is hex for 16,16,16

Hi David, yes I'm sure...

If I add a levels filter and set the input start around 0.174 then it looks like the First Light footage and blacks go to 0 but not unless I do that....

Also while I have you, the documentation is a little sparse so I have another question....

If I set Key Frames can I adjust different parts of the footage with different settings? How can you tell where you put different Key Frames if you do?

Something is wrong in your Vegas setup. If you have an uncorrected clip, does it do that same thing?

Yes, keyframes allow you to have different setup and different time (although only only look file -- currently.) Click on the < and > controls to navigate between keyframes -- works pretty well for a minimum GUI change.
