Cineform 3.4.1.36 Crashes Vegas 7d?

Has anyone else experienced Vegas crashing after installing the latest Cineform ConnectHD listed above? Everything was running great until I installed the latest ConnectHD. Now while in Vegas, it will crash doing various things - editing, trimming, rendering, etc. There is no rhyme or reason either. It runs for 3 minutes and will crash and it will run for an hour and then crash! But, it will not complete a render of any amount of time.

I traced to it Connect by uninstalling Vegas and ConnectHD, then reinstalling Vegas by itself. Everything runs great again. However, when I install ConnectHD, Vegas begins to crash again??

Any thoughts? Thanks..

So far we have never found anything wrong. Vegas only uses the VfW codec which work in other applications fine. Vegas did add VfW threading in recent versions, so we have a new build in the works, that made a very small change that might help.

Thanks David for the response. Any idea as to when the new build will be available? For now, I have Connect installed while I capture several tapes. Once I'm finished, I will uninstall Connect to work in Vegas. A little of an inconvenience, but manageable.

Thanks again..

All our software packages are in the middle of a significant update. A lot of pre-NAB stuff. It shouldn't be too long for the new full verison. However I rolled back the code to 3.4.1.36 and added this one change, so I hope you can help us in test if this made the difference. Here is Connect HD 3.4.2.37 : http://www.cineform.com/downloads/Co...2.37-Setup.zip

I look forward to your report.

Again David, Thank You! I don't know what exactly the change was, but it appears to be working flawlessly now! I just finished a 4 hour session in Vegas and not a single crash! And, it (Vegas) appears to be running smoother - may be my imagination but none the less it is working again. I will keep you posted as to the progress.

:) :) :) Thanks for this update. It sometime pays off to do a little work on the weekend before breakfast (I only built 3.4.2 this morning.) I hope this continues to be smooth and stable for you.

David, can you assure me that the new update will not corrupt my system? Reason I ask is I think Vegas is running the best it ever has on my system! I would hate to compromise that until I finish my current project.. Are there any significant gains with the new update?

Thanks..

Very minor change that fixes another Vegas issue, it is safe, but if you running fine you don't need it.

Aspect HD didn't need these changes (already had them.) But there are main upgrades in the works to be announced next week, just before NAB.
