Any site / server problems -- post here.

I just know there's gotta be a rational explanation, but for the life of me, I can't work out what it is.

I refer to the displayed "post times" in the following threads:

http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/home-away...tml#post958494

and

http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/open-dv-d...tml#post958429

My system shows

12.00 ; 11.34; 11.49 & 11.52 AM

for the first and

12.04; 04.05; 07.01 & 08.04 AM

for the second.

All "Today" and all "AM".

Huh?

Are these the posters local times or..................er, dunno.

(I will conveniently overlook the double post and the posters apparent belief he's on talkback radio).

Even the knowledge that I'm 4 hours later than Tokyo hasn't really helped me with this one.

(It's coming up for 13.00 hrs here, 0900 in Tokyo).

I see 4:00 am, 3:34 3:49 3:52 4:51 pm for the first one, showing California time

Chris Soucy November 1st, 2008 06:41 PM

Huh, Chris........................

You been messing with that clock of yours or something?

The times of every post on the site are listed in your local time... whatever GMT + or - setting that you've indicated in your user options, found at http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/usercp.php. I've merged the two threads together... other than that I'm not sure what the problem is here. I'm not seeing any issue with the post times from my end.

Advanced Search error message

Anyone else getting this today? When I click on "Search" then choose "Advanced Search" I get this error in both Firefox and Internet Explorer:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /export/sites/dvinfo.net/docs/gallery/gallery_global.php on line 352

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/includes/functions_gallery.php on line 1067

I should add it's when I click on "Advanced Search" under "Search Gallery" in the popup. I don't usually click on this one, so maybe it's always been like this. I just clicked on the usual one, and it works fine.

Chris Swanberg November 4th, 2008 11:57 AM

I have encountered the same issue last evening.

Gallery error messages

Also, when I click on the Galley tab I get a very long list of warnings as below. (With IE7 on Win XP SP3). When I get a chance I'll try it on Safari on my MBP to see what happens there too

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/includes/functions_gallery.php on line 1067

Chris Hurd November 4th, 2008 12:23 PM

As if the other pending glitches described elsewhere weren't already enough to deal with, I'll have to concede that the gallery is officially broken. Right now my primary headache is how to best preserve all of the images and descriptive data for further use later on. Meanwhile, for basic image uploading, please use your albums option, found within your profile page. Here's mine:

http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/members/c...t-members.html

Start your own by going to Controls > Pictures & Albums > Add Album.

Slow page loading?

I'm trying to narrow down the cause of very slow page loading. It appears to happen to me mostly on this site and is intermittent. Is this happening to others as well? Seems to have started relatively recently and is particlularly bad when posting.

Trond Saetre November 27th, 2008 06:31 AM

Happens to me once in a while too. And as you say, only on dvinfo.net.

Also when I try to post, I sometimes get logged out.
Does this happen to you as well?

Jeff Harper November 27th, 2008 07:41 AM

I don't getted logged out, but I have recieved a couple of timeouts.

I installed anti-spyware from Yahoo a few minutes ago, and I must admit after scanning and removing tracking cookies things have improved considerably.

I'm suspecting it was me along, not the site.

Bill Ravens November 27th, 2008 07:54 AM

I'm seeing the same thing....hmmmm...I assumed it was this website. Or a cookie this website sent out.

Vito DeFilippo November 27th, 2008 08:13 AM

Yeah, I get it too. Sometimes the site is fast, other times I get timeouts, the page won't load.

I always figured it was the site traffic, but what do I know...

Jeff Harper November 27th, 2008 09:15 AM

I have no idea, but since I used the yahoo spyware thing, all is still well. Pages are loading superfast again including here.

Jeff Harper November 27th, 2008 09:20 AM

OK, just went to edit a post, and almost timed out again.
