DVD Case Inserts

Hello all,

I am having a problem getting my Epson R280 to print correctly on Memorex DVD case insert paper. It is A4 sized, but my printer will not print it properly. It is always too low or the text for the side spline is too low. When I use an HP 940C I have no problem, but that is my wife's personal printer and do not want to use all her ink. Thanks for any replies.

Aloha,
Ron

This isn't an answer to your question specifically, but here's a way to get better looking inserts.

I created a template in Adobe Illustrator for the size of a standard DVD insert. Now all I have to do is design the cover the way I see fit and export the file to a tiff or jpeg. I burn that onto a cd and take it to kinkos and have them print how ever many copies I need on their laser printer. The template just barely fits on a standard 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. Then they use the paper cutter in the back to cut the excess off around the edges.

Kinkos color laser printing is much better than inkjet, the texture and look of the finished insert is much like you'd get in a hollywood dvd, and because a paper cutter cuts them, you don't have the left over ragged edge.

I guess it depends on what you're doing and how many you need, but this works well for me.
