FCS 6 & 7 - Print to TAPE (Canon XH A1)
Hi all!
Hope all is well. Finally I got to the end of my documentary film (40 min) and would like to first make master copies to tapes. Would people please advice on the workflow and tips when using Canon XH A1 as a recording deck from Final Cut Pro? Thanks a lot. Best Regards, Pavel |
Ok, I will ask different way.
Is there anyone who successfully managed to print to video from FCP 6 or 7 using Canon XH A1? Would you share your wisdom here? Thanks a lot. Pavel |
I've done it Pavel though not to XH-A1 but I don't think that matters really. It was quite easy - set in and out points on the sequence, go to Print to tape and follow instructions (set in/ out points to a short clip at first to test as it takes a while). You probably need to be put the camera manually into record mode and started. Also make sure that your sequence settings are all full quality. Don't try and just record straight from the timeline - you can do this with DV but not HDV, you have to use the Print to tape command. The FCP manual is quite helpful on this btw, worth reading.
I should say that I found this by far the best quality as I've had all kinds of problems getting a smooth image when playing HDV material from the computer, but once printed to tape it looks excellent. |
