FCP after FX left behind in Quicktime conversion

I compressed my first FCP video - a simple job I did for a local pub entertainer, with great results except for one problem.

I only used fade in and fade out and a title crawl but none of these made it to the compressed version, and there's no sign of any problem or any explanation why.

These were my actions/settings:

FILE/EXPORT/QUICKTIME CONVERSION

MPEG4 IMPROVED

3200 kbits per sec

352-288 CIF

Preserved aspect ratio using letterbox

30 Keyframes every 24 frames

As advised by a popular YouTuber.

Did I miss something?
