JVC GY-HD100U normal to overexposed?
 

Here is my situation; was shooting a Youth Soccer League game and all was going as normal. While recording and viewing with my 7" monitor everything went overexposed while recording. I thought the monitor was the problem but when I converted the M2T files for edit the beginning of one clip started out normal then all of a sudden everything went overexposed. and the balance of the recording some 40 min was over exposed. I record direct to a DR-HD100 DTE.
Once I knew this happened on the recording I set up the cam and did a test video and all is good.
Anyone experience this and if so what was the solution. I have to trust this unit on-location.

Maybe the camera overheated. Was it a particularly hot day?

yes it was hot that day. However I shot 2 games the day before pretty much the same temp.

Unless it happens again, I would conclude this was a malfunction due to overheating. Perhaps something went wrong with the ND filter as discussed in the following thread:

Is there a way to keep the camera out of the sun at the next game?

I have a HD110 and have recorded in full sun for 8 hours straight at 112-118'f and the only thing to give me issues was my HDD recorder that powered off from the heat. Maybe the shutter speed was bumped or somehow got bumped from auto to manual and the manual setting from a previous day?
