Problem with Pinnacle Studio 10 effects

Hi everyone,

When I go to choose an effect, I can see in the preview for the transition effect that the effect is extremely flickering and not working properly. Normally you can see a preview where Video 1 is A and Video 2 is B. It then simulates how these two videos would look having this transition, but this is exactly where I got all this stranger flicker stuff. I mean I can see the transition, but some parts are just missing and not being displayed properly or I get black stuff everywhere. This goes for all the transition effects I got. It is really strange, since I deinstalled Pinnacle 10 a few times now and tried different versions and updates... but the problem just won't go away. Hope you guys know what I mean, otherwise I am willing to upload a video where you can see what I mean exactly.

By the way: I have Pinnacle 9.4 and MediaSuite installed at the same time.

Thanx in advance!

Ariel:

Pinnacle Studio 10 renders on the time line as you are going along. So if you are adding effects, you won't see the final version of the effect, until the "green" shaded area above the timeline renders out completely. Before that, if you attempt to play the clip with the effect or transition, you will likely have a lot flickering. Try putting an effect on a single clip, and playing it immediately, then wait for the green shaded area to dissappear above the clip, and try to play again. The effect should be fully applied then, and not create a problem with playback.

The faster you system, the quicker the clip with effects will render. And if you are editing HDV, it will take longer too !
