HD-SDI Cable Length

What is the maximum length that HD-SDI Cable can be run? Would a 500ft run be fine or would it loose too much signal?

Sorry if this is in the wrong catagory

It depends on type of signal and wire gauge.

so 285ft maximum acording to that site, or 328 acording to the Pansonic site.

300 ft is the general rule. Though sometimes I get a week signal that won't make it that far. A reclocking DA has saved me a few times on longer runs - 500 ft.
