Ah, ok I think I have a better understanding of what I'm after now. I was a little confused with the squashed (anamorphic) image in the LCD screen on my camera.

I should be getting a new editing workstation with Adobe Premiere Pro soon, so I'll play around with the different options for editing in and exporting widescreen shot from my camera.
